Privacy-friendly site analytics
This site uses a lightweight analytics system to understand how the site is being used while avoiding invasive visitor profiles.
The analytics system may record aggregate information such as:
- Page views and approximate unique visitors
- Date of the visit and page path
- Country, region, and city at a coarse level
- Referring site such as Google, Discord, Instagram, or direct traffic
- Broad device type, browser family, and operating system
What is not stored
The site does not intentionally write raw IP addresses, device fingerprints, exact coordinates, ISP information, postal codes, or a detailed per-person browsing profile to its analytics database.
How unique visitors work
Instead of fingerprinting a device, the site stores a small local flag in your browser indicating that this browser has been counted before. Clearing site data can cause the browser to be counted again, so the unique visitor total is intentionally approximate.
Location lookup
For coarse location analytics, the browser may request location information from ipwho.is. Like any internet service you connect to, that provider receives the network request and can see the public IP used for that request. The site code intentionally discards the returned IP address and writes only coarse country, region, and city fields to Firestore.
Your controls
Browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals are respected. You can also disable this site's analytics on this browser below.
Third-party services
Some pages load content or status information from services such as Discord, Spotify, Google Fonts, content delivery networks, Firebase, and the coarse-location provider described above. Those services may receive normal connection information when your browser requests their resources.
Local storage
The analytics system uses small local values to remember whether this browser has been counted, whether it has been counted for today's approximate daily visitor number, and whether you opted out. These values stay on your device.
